Women's group HIV+

A HIV diagnosis can seem hopeless to many people at first. If this feeling is combined with feelings of shame, there is a risk that it can lead to a strong feeling of insecurity, which can lead to isolation and a negative self-image. Sometimes women also feel underrepresented when it comes to support services specifically tailored to their needs. To counteract these factors, we offer an open group for HIV-positive women at maincheck, which meets every fortnight in a protected space.
The group aims to:
- Reduce fears
- Create exchanges with other women
- Share and gain information about living with HIV
- Strengthen self-confidence.
Furthermore, thanks to their meeting, the women gain insights into other life experiences, and can thus learn from and support each other.
