KISS, the crisis intervention centre for hustlers, is a project of the AHF. Close to the scene and easy to access, the contact point in Wielandstraße 10-12 offers basic material, medical and social care for men, as well as transgender people, who work as sex workers in the Main metropolis. In addition, the staff provide information about HIV and AIDS, as well as other sexually transmitted diseases, carry out prevention work, and offer support and care in the event of an infection.
At KISS, food and drinks are available for the clients, they can take a shower, wash their clothes, talk to other queer sex workers, play games or simply withdraw from the hard everyday life of the scene. The clients are provided with condoms and lubricants, and qualified staff are available for counselling and to accompany clients to doctors and authorities.
If necessary, the social workers intervene in crises and explore ways to leave sex work completely with their clients. Cultural mediators and native speaker translators are available for the clients, most of whom come from Eastern Europe.
From Mondays to Fridays, the KISS also provides daybeds for clients:
Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. until one hour before the closing time of the drop-in centre (on Wednesdays until 2 p.m.).
- On Mondays, a social worker from the Health Department, who speaks Spanish, is at KISS
- One interpreter (Bulgarian, Portuguese by arrangement) is at KISS every day during opening hours and accompanies clients to offices, authorities and more, if necessary.
- From Monday to Tuesday, and Thursday to Friday, a full-time staff member offers interpreting and translation assistance in Italian.
